Novel approach… Markus Zusak’s bestselling book, about a young girl who transforms the lives of those around her when she’s sent to live with a foster family in World War II Germany, is brought to life by Downton Abbey director Brian Percival.

Back to the future… This family animation sees dog genius Mr Peabody and his adopted ‘son’ Sherman journey back in time in a bid to save the future.

It’s a kind of magic… The family animation series continues with Tink and friends in a race against time to retrieve the stolen Blue Pixie Dust and return it to Pixie Hollow.

Art appreciation… George Clooney directs and stars in this historical comedy-drama about a World War Two platoon tasked with reclaiming priceless works of art from Nazi thieves.

Money talks… Leonardo DiCaprio flashes the cash in Martin Scorsese’s black comedy take on the true story of a high-earning, fast-living stockbroker.

Fight for freedom… Steve McQueen’s historical drama charts the true story of Solomon Northup (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a black man who is abducted and sold into slavery in pre-Civil War America.

10. RoboCop4-single_stars

Robot reboot… Paul Verhoeven’s 1987 cyborg police officer is back on this beat in this remake from Brazilian director Jose Padilha.
